midterm break: limassol, cyprus!

one of my best friends at school is nicknamed
"keo." so i was excited to see this.

we were getting quite sick of shopping.
limassol has an interesting taste in art work. this is
me sitting on some egg art.
i wish i could say that this was also just something limassol
had hanging around but carnival was about to start.
clearly i had to pose with the bizarre creature.
apparently limassol is the place to be... in the
summer months, not february.

midterm break: rhodes, greece!

rhodes port.
i definitely didn't check to see if these blocks were
stable before i climbed them. i probably should have.
street of the knights.

greek trucks make me feel like a giant.

*as you can see, there really wasn't much to do in rhodes.*

midterm break: izmir, turkey!

turkish lyra.
one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
baptistery.

a turkish column & myself.

taxi.

mother mary's house.
you can't take pictures inside, so this is an image of
what it looks like inside the house.
if you drink from the fountain, you'll have good health.
the wishing wall. people write down a wish and then tie
it onto the wall.
while on the tour, this british man asked our tour guide
if there were any turkeys in turkey. i immediately thought of
this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2AWKfMvDtw
**adam, i know you'll definitely appreciate this.**
izmir.
mary.
stop.

midterm break: athens, greece!

has anyone ever seen "my big fat greek wedding"? do
you remember the crazy grandma? this is her twin. this
greek woman who spoke no english became our tour guide.
it was definitely an interesting experience.
the bus schedule is only in greek. we took it & somehow
found our way to the acropolis. it's a miracle really.
in athens looking up at the acropolis.

akwardly posing at an overlook of athens.
more awkward posing & athens.
amphitheater.
as woj joked, "i'm not sure which one is bigger." haha,
ahh the joys of having a big burns head.
the parthenon!
it has been under construction for the past 26 years.

i thought this was a cool picture of the new & old.

midterm break: olympia, greece!

our cruise ship.

as you can see, there really isn't much in olympia.
